Thanks to Notts City Council

With the opening of the £16million redevelopment of Harvey Hadden Sports Village, with the new Nottinghamshire 50m Swimming Pool, Beechdale Baths has now closed down. With the closing of Beechdale Baths, Nottingham City Council have very kindly donated a lot of equipment from the Leisure Centre, that is now no longer needed to Nottinghamshire ASA. The bulk of this equipment was the electronic timing equipment.

With this kind donation Nottinghamshire ASA decided to distribute this equipment out to the local pools that do have use for the equipment.

Air-IT Lend a hand

On Tuesday 8th September, with the help of a local Nottinghamshire based IT company (Air-IT) who donated the use of a van, the timing equipment was transported from Beechdale Baths, to local Nottinghamshire pools; Nottingham University, Water Meadows in Mansfield, and Hucknall Leisure Centre.

These Pools were selected by Notts ASA to receive the equipment as spares due to them being  the only pools in Nottinghamshire that use the OMEGA timing equipment.

Hucknall say thank you

Charlotte Buswell-Marsh, Assistant Manager at Hucknall Leisure Centre, pictured above, said a huge thank you to Notts ASA stating “Christmas has come early at Hucknall Leisure Centre”.

Along with the timing equipment, Notts ASA have also donated the PA system that was used at Beechdale to Hucknall Leisure Centre for use by Nottinghamshire Clubs when swimming galas are hosted at the centre.

A number of Water Polo items have also been aquired by local clubs and the floating polo goals are set to be donated to the Djanogly pool in Forest Fields.
