Olympic Torch Coming To Mansfield

Mansfield to welcome London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay Route.
Mansfield has today (Monday 7 November) been named as one of the host communities on the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay Route.
On Thursday 28 June 2012 the Olympic Flame will be passing through Mansfield as part of its tour around the country in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic Games. People of Mansfield and surrounding communities will be invited to welcome the Olympic Flame; share in the excitement the relay will bring and celebrate the achievements of the Torchbearers.
Mansfield is one of over 1,000 villages, towns and cities announced by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) through which the Olympic Flame will be carried by Torchbearers during the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. LOCOG has worked closely with representatives from a number of sectors in the East Midlands to devise the route.
