Ollie Smashes his own World Record

NOVA Centurion’s Ollie Hynd broke his own world record en-route to gold at the British Summer Championships at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.

The 22-year-old produced an impressive performance to win the final of the S8 400m freestyle, taking more than two seconds off the world record he set at the Rio Paralympics.

Ollie said: “Really happy to smash my 400 freestyle world record tonight! Two seconds faster than Rio!”

The European, world and Paralympic champion in that event, he swept to victory in 4:19.74, beating his previous competition best of 4:21.89.
