In line with Swim England events and government guidelines today, Nottinghamshire ASA have decided that we should be cancelling all league and competition activity.
The statement released by Swim England states:
“Having further reviewed the guidance, it is Swim England’s interpretation that club activity falls into the ‘public gathering’ category and therefore it is strongly advising clubs to consider cancelling or postponing activity – including events – until the end of May.”
Jane Nickerson, Swim England Chief Executive, added that she recognised the worries from clubs and learn to swim providers but said a final decision on whether to call off sessions and events had to rest with them.
With this information we would advise all clubs to cancel training sessions but we do state that this is a decision to be made by your clubs and we cannot force any of you to “shut down”.
This is a constantly changing situation and we advise everyone to keep an eye on Swim England’s website and also the daily governments announcements and follow the appropriate action that is advised.
For now Nottinghamshire ASA have cancelled the following events:
Notts ASA Stage 3 League – 21/03/2020
Notts ASA Stage 3 League – 02/05/2020
Notts ASA Stage 1 Trophy – 25/04/2020
We will keep everyone updated as much as we can with further developments. We hope that everyone is doing well and keeps safe during this difficult time.
