 The Notts County Council Swim Squad Swimmer of the Year is Elizabeth Arnold. Elizabeth had had a superb last twelve months swimming for England in the Commonwealth Games in January and making the final in the 800m freestyle to finish in 6th position. Elizabeth has also represented the Great Britain Senior Team, the England Intermediate Team and the English Schools Team, and on every occasion has won her event. At the time of writing Liz ranked 16th in the world in the 800m freestyle in the senior world rankings and is a fine prospect for the future. Liz has achieved her success through hard work and dedication. She is a totally committed athlete who is a fine example to other swimmers. Update: Liz represented Great Britain at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. She married former Nova Swimmer and England Junior International, Dean Anscombe. They have two children, Millie and Eric. |
