 Rebecca Adlington was Notts County Council Swim Squad Swimmer of the Year in 2004. She made outstanding progress and indicated her potential when she returned from the European Youth Olympic Festival with 2 silver medals. Just 12 months later was European Junior Champion.
Her performance at the Olympic Trials in 2004 was one of the shocks of the event, she reduced her personal best time by 13 seconds in one swim to take second place and only narrowly missed selection for the Olympic Team but was ranked first in the world for 15 year old girls. Rebecca was invited to train with the Olympic squad on both pre Olympic training camps. Rebecca is a hard working and committed individual and is an example of what can be achieved when high standards and high goals are complimented with an exceptional work ethic.
